There are a couple of shows that have really captured my attention on the
History Channel.
American Pickers is about these two guys who go around the country searching through peoples stuff and buying what they think they can resale for a profit.
Pawn Stars is about a pawn shop in Las Vegas owned and operated by a father, son and grandson.
I think what interests me in watching these shows is the stuff that people accumulate and how they value it.
Have you heard about the record breaking
Superman debut comic book that sold for $1 Million?
A week after that sale another record was broken when a
Batman comic sold for $1,075,500.
Comic books selling for a million dollars or more!
Have we lost all perspective?
What value do we put on our stuff?
What value do we put on Christ?
Christ is not valued at all unless He is valued above all.
-- St. Augustine of Hippo
May we always value Christ and our relationship with Him above all that we have.
