How You Stay Free

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
Galatians 5:1

"Jesus set us free from the Old Testament law, giving us a new commandment of love — loving God and loving one another. Love God with everything you have and love others as Jesus loves you. It is how you stay free." — Pastor Gregory A. Johnson, founder of LovingGodFellowship.org

Love, Sweet Love

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

"It's all about love, loving God and people. Without love, we are meaningless. If you want to make a difference today, ask God for the supreme gift of love. Love others as yourself. Love God with everything you have. What the world needs now is love." — Pastor Gregory A. Johnson, founder of LovingGodFellowship.org.

The Church Jesus Builds

And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:47

"Jesus started the church with the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. It is not a building or a weekly service, although these are good. Jesus builds his church one follower at a time. Christ-followers are the church."  — Pastor Gregory A. Johnson, founder of LovingGodFellowship.org

Five Billion Mobile Phones and the Gospel

There are now 7.5 billion people in the world and five billion mobile phones. I will get to this a bit further down. Please keep reading.

When I was a young child growing up in a Christian home and church, I always wondered how the Gospel could be proclaimed to all nations prior to Jesus’s return as Jesus declared in Mathew 24:11-14. Church, Missionaries, Christian radio, and Christian television alone couldn't do it. These were the only means available when I was growing up in a pre-Internet society.

Now with the Internet and mobile technology, millions of people are learning the Gospel of the Kingdom each day. Many are in nations where there is no freedom to worship God, read the Bible, or attend a church. They are receiving the Gospel through technology. My wife, Becky, and I founded LovingGodFellowship.org (LGF) in 2005 for such a cause. LGF is utilizing technology and social media to reach thousands of people per day in countries around this world with the Gospel of the Kingdom in their own language (translated into 103 languages). We are thankful for all those who partner with us to make this vital ministry possible.

Back to what I shared with you in the first sentence. In countries around the world, five billion people carry a mobile phone connected to the Internet and social media. It was not like that when I was a child growing up in church, pondering how billions could be reached. I truly believe that this generation will be the generation that reaches the nations with the Gospel of the Kingdom. It is happening through technology.

Every $100 donated enables us to reach an additional 700 people around the world each day with the love of God and the Gospel of the Kingdom. We operate the ministry debt free, relying solely on charitable contributions, given online or through U.S. mail, to sustain our worldwide ministry to hundreds of thousands per day. LGF is not funded or endowed by any group or denomination.

Please click here to make a secure online donation today. Any amount will help us reach more people around the world with the love of God and the Gospel of Christ.

Know that you are loved,

Reverend Gregory A. Johnson

Romans 12:4-5

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

I believe that the greatest way to break the cycle of poverty is through providing a means for children to receive adequate education. In the next several weeks, children will be heading back to school, with many of them coming from families that are poor. These children go to school without adequate supplies to aid in their learning. We want to help all that we can by providing school supplies to these children. If you are able to help in this endeavor, will you join other Christ-followers and click here, giving a donation to this cause today?

My prayer is for God to bless you in your continued generosity. His word declares, “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25, NIV).

Know that you are loved,

"It is [Jesus] whom we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil and struggle with all the energy that he powerfully inspires within me."

Elmer L. Johnson, 82, of Proctorville, OH, transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home on Monday, June 17, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV.  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lois Ann Morrison Johnson, who was the love of his life, his best friend, and loving caregiver.

Elmer was born in Ironton, Ohio on January 7, 1931 to the late Reverend Andrew H. Johnson and Maude Mae Wills Johnson.  He graduated from Elizabeth Rural High School in Pedro, OH in 1949.  In 1960 he obtained his degree in Tool Engineering from Allied Technical Institute in Chicago, IL.

A Korean War Veteran, he spent four years in Korean waters aboard the U.S. Navy Hospital ship, USS Haven.

After 27 years of service, he retired from Huntington Alloys, which is now known as Special Metals.

Elmer was a man of great faith who walked humbly before God and served as a deacon and board member for many years at Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Huntington, WV.

Since he loved being in the woods and on the water, he was a naturally avid hunter and fisherman.

Elmer is survived by his three children and their spouses:

Preceding him in death were three brothers:  Thoral, Paul, and Andrew H. Johnson, Jr.

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Elmer was a gentle and loving man, and will be missed by all who were privileged to know him.  We are all comforted by knowing that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th Street, Ironton, OH.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Reverend Gregory A. Johnson officiating.  Burial, with military rites, will follow the funeral service at Sugar Creek Cemetery.
